Sometimes, You Just Have to Call it Quits

Don’t panic! I’m not pulling the plug on this site. I will be rearranging it though.

As you may know if you’ve been following the site, I had expressed the wish to make ren’ai games more available to those who are interested in these types of games. I began turning the .com domain part of Ren’ai Games into a visual novel portal. I had updated the site with a fresh new look, and I have been working on the site behind the scenes but I haven’t updated it and made it available in it’s latest form. Why? Because I’ve come to the realization that I just don’t have enough time to do everything I want to do.

Right now, I am able to update my site Manga Tutorials on a daily basis, manage the forum, oekaki, and mail with enough time to spare for hanging out with friends and family, time to rest by myself, and of course, to work my full time job. On my spare moments, I will drop in here to update the site, add news, and make some changes but with the addition of the Ren’ai Games portal, there’s just not enough time to fit it in the whole scheme of things so to speak. I do not have time to dedicate for support emails should a customer have a problem which is my main concern. I really value customer support but with no time – I just can’t do it. I do not want to give shoddy customer support.

Now, I will not quit on the idea of making ren’ai games available all in one spot though. For one thing, it’s very convenient to know who has what all in one spot without a body searching the web or keeping tabs on multiple sites. I can be forgetful at times and I’ve grown impatient over the years. If I have to hunt for something too long, I’ll move on.

So what to do…? What to do….?

I’ve decided to make a page here at the site that lists all commercial indie ren’ai games. Free ren’ai games are already being listed at Ren’ai Archives so I’ll forgo doing that here at the site. The commercial list will include information about the game, image previews, links to the demo as well as buy links and a direct link to the game’s creator. I will not be offering any customer support. If you buy from this site, great! If you buy directly from the creator – I think that’s great too! If I at least have some hand in promoting this genre, then I’m good.

Moving on, I’ve also decided to take down the NaNoRenO, IntRenAiMo, and the ALICE Packs pages. I no longer have time to look after those pages or to update them. If you would like up-to-date information on any NaNoRenO/IntRenAiMo events, games, and discussions, drop by the Lemmasoft forum. Everything is there if you do a quick search. As for the ALICE Packs, they may also be found at LemmaSoft forum. I will keep the ALICE packs that I made here at the site but I will move it under the Dev Articles page. As I mentioned, I do not have any more time to update it, but I will still make it available for those who want to use it.

Moving on to the games that I make for free here at Ren’ai Games… I will finish Foxtaile but I believe that game will be my last free game. Starting in late August after I finish doing all the All About Life in a Japanese School articles at Manga Tutorials, I will start updating here and at Manga Tutorials with updates on my progress on Foxtaile artwork. People love to see art in progress so I will posting at both sites simultaneously.

The remaining pages will stay; development articles, articles, and our games. I will be posting related gaming news featuring ren’ai games and quirky games that I think you, as the audience, may find interesting and may even be inspired by. The site may be rearranged a bit so if something goes haywire – that’s me working on the site.

Cheers! C:
