i. Introduction
This guide was created to help players find all of the endings to Tall Tales Production’s visual novel “Metropolitan Blues.” It includes two different levels of details – a hints section that can give players a nudge in the right direction and a full-blown description of the branches and scoring system.
ii. Hints
There are three scores that correlate to the three major themes to this game – loneliness, identity, and purpose. The game will branch at several places depending on which aspect you choose to pursue, and your final choice determines the set of endings that you can get. For example, deciding to remain as a guiding spirit at the end will determine your ending with the “purpose” score.
If you are reading this guide, odds are that you are tired of getting the “Banishment” ending. =P It is basically a catch-all ending for when you score too low in the theme associated with the final choice. So even if you managed to choose all the loneliness-related choices, you can still be banished if you try to find a purpose as your last choice.
Also, there are two endings for each theme, and you can get them if you score high enough in the designated ending set. What will happen if you manage to balance out all three aspects…? ; )
- DO NOT READ PAST THIS POINT IF YOU STILL WANT TO FIND THE ENDINGS YOURSELF!

iii. Branch System and Scoring
All right, so you’re down in this section either because the hints didn’t help much or because you’re curious as to how the scoring works. =P
Anyways, the different paths can be categorized into four tiers. Starting with the top, you move down to the next level until you reach the bottom where your ending is decided. Along the way, the choices you make regarding loneliness, identity, and purpose will increment the coresponding score.
Below, I will list the choices for each branch and the scores associated with them. I will also mark which branch it leads to when applicable.
